India's govt nominates DFS Secretary Vivek Joshi as a director on the Reserve Bank of India's central board

A Ph.D. in International Studies (International Economics) from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva (Switzerland), Joshi took office as the secretary at the financial services department on November 1.

The Indian government has nominated Department of Financial Services Secretary Vivek Joshi as a director on the Reserve Bank of India's central board.

"The nomination of Vivek Joshi is effective from November 15, 2022 and until further orders," the central bank said in a statement.

A Ph.D. in International Studies (International Economics) from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva (Switzerland), Joshi took office as the secretary at the financial services department on November 1.


Earlier, he had worked as a joint secretary in the Department of Expenditure and was responsible for public procurement policies and appraisal of publicly funded projects/schemes.
