NEW DELHI: Emphasising that the government's role at should that be of a facilitator than a regulator, Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday said that the NDA government is working aggressively to ensure that the 'Make in India' dream turns into a reality.

Answering questions as part of a panel discussion on 'Make in India: Crafting a Manufacturing Revival', Sitharaman said, "We have to ensure growth brings job creation. SMEs are the biggest source of employment."

Agreeing that the manufacturing sector should be a key area of focus for the Modi government, other panellists also stressed on enhancing the ease of doing business. Representing India Inc on the panel were RC Bhargava, Chairman of Maruti Suzuki India, Sunil Munjal, Joint MD of Hero MotoCorp, Banmali Agrawala, President & CEO of GE - South Asia and Arun Kumar Jagatramka, Chairman of Gujarat NRE Coke.
