NEW DELHI: An 18-member mission led by CII, currently on a four-day visit to UK, will focus on bringing back confidence of the foreign investors in India.
The mission, led by CII president Ashok Soota, is part of a continued dialogue under the Indo-British partnership which was initiated in 1993, a CII release said.
The delegation will be meeting senior representatives of the UK administration and brief them on the latest situation in the country and also ask them to bring back on track the bilateral economic relations, it said.
Apart from this, the mission will be exploring new areas of cooperation between India and UK, enhance and strengthen the trade and investment relations between the two as well as promote joint Indo-UK efforts to tap the hidden potential in the EU market.
While promoting new investments in India and the UK, the team will focus on the emerging growth areas such as biotechnology, entertainment, R&D, healthcare and communications.
UK is India''s largest trading partner in Europe with 6.4 per cent of the market. The total trade turnover in goods and services has grown from $1.8 billion in 1991 to $4.7 billion. More than 250 Indian companies have presence in UK and India is 8th largest investor in UK in terms of number of projects.
