Implementation of projects in Madhya Pradesh poor: Assocham
Although Madhya Pradesh has attracted 816 projects worth Rs 6 lakh crore, implementation of many of the projects has been poor, Assocham said today.
"The implementation of investments in Madhya Pradesh has been quite poor," Assocham National General Secretary D S Rawat told reporters here today.
He said that 33 per cent of investments committed in the state were still at the 'announcement stage', adding that about 60 per cent of investments were under different stages of implementation as execution of projects involving 0.7 per cent of total investments had been stalled due to various reasons.
Although the private sector accounted for about 65 per cent of total investments announced in Madhya Pradesh, the State has a share of a paltry four per cent in the total investments announced by both government and private sources across India, highlights the paper prepared by the Assocham Research Bureau.
The paper also noted that despite being the second largest state in the country, the state attracted investment worth Rs 6 lakh crore, which is quite low, given that there were over 17,000 such projects worth over Rs 141 lakh crore announced across India.
