SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh government on Fridsay said it would set up a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Kangra district for development of sports infrastructure.
The government would soon set up SEZ in Kangra district for sports infrastructure development, State Industries Minister Kuldeep Kumar said during Himachal Day functions at India International Trade Fair in New Delhi.
Additionally, a growth centre had been set up at Sansarpur Terrace in Kangra to improve infrastructure and communication facilities while an Export Promotion Park had been set up at Baddi in Solan district, he was quoted as saying in an official release.
Expressing his keenness to involve private sector in infrastructure development, Kumar said besides attractive industrial package, the state had several advantages like uninterrupted power supply, efficient administration and clean environment.
He said the state was poised to become a major industrial hub in the next five years with thrust on tourism, hydropower development and pharmaceutical sectors.
