Senior corporate affairs ministry officials will brief the parliamentary standing committee on finance on April 28 on the "evolving role of the Competition Commission of India (CCI) in the economy, particularly the digital landscape", according to a Lok Sabha Secretariat notice.

The briefing could cover topics ranging from a digital competition law, which was proposed to regulate large players, to the effective oversight of antitrust behaviour of e-comerce as well as quick commerce players, said a person aware of the details.

The panel is headed by senior BJP leader Bhartruhari Mahtab.

Corporate affairs secretary Deepti Gaur Mukherjee and other senior officials are expected to brief the House committee.
