Hotels, House Owners told to Share Details of Foreigners
City police commissioner NS Megharikh directed house owners, hotels, education institutions and private companies, where foreign nationals are staying or working.

Megharikh said no foreigner, unless registered with the police, should be allowed to reside, work or study in the city . The move comes after the alleged stripping of a Tanzanian woman by a mob and the Karnataka High Court pulling up the police over the 1,150 foreign nationals overstaying here.
About 24,000 foreigners are registered with the Foreigners Regional Registration Officer (FRRO) Bengaluru.
To prevent illegal stay by foreign nationals, Megharikh directed residential building owners, business owners and officials of educational institutions to submit information about them with the jurisdictional police station in a prescribed format.
While existing tenants have got 15 days to comply with the order, in future, it has to be done within 15 days of the resident moving in or leaving a house.
