Haryana to soon announce policy to generate jobs, investment in IT sector

CHANDIGARH: Haryana government will soon announce its Information Technology and Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (IT and ESDM) policy to generate jobs and investment in IT sector.

A meeting in this regard was held under the chairmanship of chief secretary DS Dhesi in Chandigarh on Tuesday. It was announced at the meeting that the policy is likely to be notified by October.

A draft of the policy has been prepared following a study to understand the best practices of successful states and stakeholder consultations with various industry organisations such as Nasscom, academicians and industry experts from different companies.

The meeting discussed salient features of the draft policy and how to adapt these to the needs of the state.

A meeting will soon be held with the finance minister regarding regulatory and financial aspects of the draft policy, officials said.
