Haryana launches 'Dal Roti Scheme' in the state

The Haryana government has allocated 2870 tonnes of dal chana and an equal quantity of dal masoor sabut to all districts in the state.

NEW DELHI: The Haryana government has allocated 2870 tonnes of dal chana and an equal quantity of dal masoor sabut to all districts in the state for their distribution under the recently launched Dal Roti scheme.

An official spokesman of Food and Supplies department said that the state Government would pay an annual subsidy of Rs 162 crore on distribution of subsidized pulses. He said that Haryana Government has decided to distribute subsidized pulses to Antodaya Anna Yojna (AAY), Central Below Poverty Line (CBPL) and State Below Poverty Line (SBPL) families under Dal Roti scheme.

He said that chana has now been made available at all the fair price shops in the state. He further said that the consumers have welcomed the steps of government and quality of pulses has been appreciated.
