Ahmedabad: Keeping an eye on the 10.2 per cent annual growth target set for Gujarat by the Planning Commission, the state government announced its industrial policy here on Sunday.

Ahmedabad: Keeping an eye on the 10.2 per cent annual growth target set for Gujarat by the Planning Commission, the state government announced its industrial policy here on Sunday. The industrial policy-2003 has been drafted to address two major issues, focusing to transform Gujarat into the “petro-capital� of India with major developments in energy and gas sectors while also making the state a “breeding ground� for agro-industries, state minister for industries Anil Patel told reporters.Rationalisation of electricity tariff, using gas as the future course of industrialisation of Gujarat, rationalisation of tax on natural gas and use of non-conventional use of energy are some of the highlights of the policy in the energy sector.
