KALLAL: Quality education, health and other infrastructural facilities for all people would be a reality if the Government and private sector worked together without considering each other as rivals or having differences, union Finance Minister P Chidambaram said today.
Inaugurating the Rs 22-lakh Satya Bharti School, built by the Bharti Foundation here, he said private and public organisations could work jointly or even separately with the same objective of providing quality education and other facilities for all.
Chidambaram said the Foundation was building 500 Schools across India to help rural children get quality education, excel in extracurricular activities and learn healthy habits.
"This is the 155th school. Ten such schools are coming up in Sivaganga Lok Sabha constituency" he said.
Stating that the Foundation would spend Rs 12 lakh a year on running the school, he said children would be imparted Activity based learning on par with their counterparts at top private schools in the city.
The aim was to provide quality education for all rural children, right from elementary to the higher secondary school level, he said.
Bharti Foundation is promoted by leading mobile phone service providers- Airtel.
