Maharashtra Government would take a positive stand on the report of the Sixth Pay Commission while deciding about the salaries of its employees, Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil said today.

NASHIK: Maharashtra Government would take a positive stand on the report of the Sixth Pay Commission while deciding about the salaries of its employees, Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil said today.

The government would take into account the rate of inflation while deciding on implemeting the panel's suggestations, he said.

Patil was addressing a farmers' rally at Chandvad tehsil town near here in North Maharashtra.

He assured that the govenment grant to be given to the onion growers would be deposited in their bank accounts within a week.

Patil, who is also the Home Minister, assured people that while creating a separate district of Malegaon, consideration would be given to include Chandvad tehsil in it.

Maharashtra PWD Minister Chhagan Bhujbal presided over the rally.

In his address, Bhujbal said a large number of farmers from Nashik would benefit from the Centre's Rs 71,000-crore loan waiver scheme.
