Govt says no plans to divest stake in BHEL

The government on Thursday ruled out any immediate plan to disinvest its stake in power equipment maker BHEL.

NEW DELHI: The government on Thursday ruled out any immediate plan to disinvest its stake in power equipment maker BHEL.

"There is no question right now," Heavy Industries Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh told reporters when asked if there will be disinvestment in BHEL.

He said the government owns 67 per cent stake in BHEL and there is no proposal for further disinvestment.
