Govt internship scheme for students of economics, finance & management

The internship would be for two months and the scholar would get a token remuneration of Rs 5,000 per month.

NEW DELHI: The government has devised an internship scheme to encourage interaction of officers of the finance ministry with students pursuing higher studies in the field of economics , finance and management.

The department of economic affairs (DEA), which operates under the finance ministry, will also give financial assistance to the selected students. The duration of the internship would be two months and the scholar would get a token remuneration of Rs 5,000 per month during that period.

For becoming interns, applicants should be pursuing research courses in economics , finance or management at National Schools of Economics, Central Universities , recognised financial and economic institutions or recognised national management institutes. Cut-off mark for applying for internship is 55% at the bachelors or above level.

Also, students with at least 80% marks in 12th standard, pursuing five-year integrated course in law from the National Law Schools at Bangalore, Bhopal, Hyderabad and Kolkata, are also eligible for the scholarship if they are in the fourth or fifth year of study.
