Govt clears 28 FDI proposals

NEW DELHI: Government has cleared 28 Foreign Direct Investment proposals, including that of Yamaha Motors and Swedish truck major Volvo, worth about Rs 61 crore.
Finance Minister P Chidambaram had approved the proposals recommended by Foreign Investment Promotion Board in its meeting held on May 28, 2004, an official release said in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The proposals mainly related to manufacturing, chemicals, PVC, conveyor belts, international air express services, wholesale trading in electronic items, consultancy, merchant banking and software development.
