Government today approved the formation of the Indian Skill Development Service (ISDS), a Group 'A' service of the technical cadre of the Ministry of Skill Development.

NEW DELHI: Government today approved the formation of the Indian Skill Development Service (ISDS), a Group 'A' service of the technical cadre of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSD&E).

It was earlier called the Directorate General of Employment & Training under the Ministry of Labour Employment.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi here.

The Cabinet also approved introduction of Non-functional Selection Grade (NFSG) to the extent of 15 per cent of SDPs at the STS (Senior time Scale) level as applicable in Group 'A' Engineering Service.

The cadre restructuring changes approved by the Cabinet include increase of one post at Senior Administrative Grade (SAG) level; increase of four posts at Junior Administrative Grade (JAG) level; increase of seven posts at STS level; and reduction of 12 posts at the Junior time Scale (JTS) level.
