Govt appoints advisors for NATRIP project
The government appointed a consortium of advisors for implementation of Rs 1,718 crore National Automotive Testing and R and D Infrastructure Project that envisages setting up of auto testing facilities in seven locations across the country.
The agreement was signed between NATRIP Implementation Society set up by the government and consortium consisting of IDIADA and AVL Ibercia of Spain and ICRA Management Consultancy Services of India.
"The project would be completed in two phases of three years each. The consortium would will assist NATRIP society for detailed location-wise planning of facilities and in straitening time bound implementation," heavy industry minister Sontosh Mohan Dev said.
The acquisition of land for the seven facilities was nearing completion, secretary in the heavy industry ministry Priyadarshi Thakur said.
The consortium of advisors would prepare Detailed Project Implementation Report in the next 20 weeks, CEO and Project Director of NATRIP Sunil Chaturvedi said.
The advisors would charge a fee of Rs 39.50 crore for the consultancy, he said.
"If the project shapes up well we might go with the consultants to other countries," Dev said.
Under the project state of the art testing and homologation facilities would come up in Manesar in Haryana and Orgadam near Chennai.
At ARAI in Pune and Vehicle Research and Development Establishment in Ahmednagar the testing and homologation facilities would be upgraded.
