Replying to a question, Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudy said that the government had formulated the National Skill Development Policy in 2009.

NEW DELHI: The government is reviewing the National Skill Development Policy, the Lok Sabha was informed today.

Replying to a question, Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudy said that the government had formulated the National Skill Development Policy in 2009. The policy was to be reviewed every five years, he added.

"The National Skill Development Policy will provide a robust framework of skill development and focus on outcome based approach in terms of providing meaningful employment in the form of both wage and self employment," he added.

Responding to another question, the Minister said that 1238 candidates have registered in a portal expressing their interest in undertaking skill training till date.

Stating that the National Skill Development Agency ( NSDA) has already initiated the process of registering candidates, who are interested in undertaking skill development trainings, he said that the portal was launched on October 1 this year and it is being upgraded.
