Government invites applications for Reserve Bank of India deputy governor
MUMBAI: The Government of India (GoI) is seeking applications for the post of deputy governor in the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to replace Urjit Patel who took over as RBI chief earlier this month.

In a notice on the RBI website the government has put out a detailed job description for the job and for the first time released a one page application form.

Persons with a minimum of 25 years work experience in public administration or Indian international public financial institution who are below 60 years as of 4th September 2016 are eligible to apply, the notice from the department of financial services said.

The appointment will be for a period of three years with an option for extension of tenure. The post will carry a salary of Rs 80,000 per month.
