Out of these certified candidates, 15.4 lakh candidates have been reported to be placed in various sectors across the country, the minister said. Rest 38.82 lakh have been certified under the recognition of prior learning (RPL) course of the government.
Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 2016-20 is a flagship scheme of the MSDE being implemented with an objective to provide skilling to one crore people under Short Term Training (STT) and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) across the country including urban and rural areas for four years i.e. 2016-2020 with an outlay of Rs. 12,000 crore.
As per NSS 66th and 68th round data, 298.25 million workforce is to be trained in farm and non-farm sector across the country till 2022.
