Former UNDP-economist G D Bandgaiyan to head National Centre for Good Governance
NEW DELHI: Economist and former IAS officer Gyanendra D Bandgaiyan was today appointed Director General of National Centre for Good Governance ( NCGG), a think tank on good governance reforms.

Bandgaiyan, ex-chief economist of United Nations Development Programme, has been appointed for a period of three years which is extendable by another two years or up to 60 years of age, an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said.

54-year-old Bandgaiyan, a former IAS officer of union territories cadre, hails from Madhya Pradesh.

The NCGG, an autonomous institution under the administrative control of the DoPT, is the apex think tank of the country that guides and helps implement good governance reforms through research, policy analysis, advocacy, and capacity building in order to strengthen institutions that deliver good governance and foster democracy.

As per an advertisement issued by the government seeking nominations for the post, the DG, NCGG will be paid a consolidated salary of Rs 3.75 lakh per month without the facility of car and house.
