Former CBDT chief Anita Kapur appointed COMPAT member

Anita Kapur has been appointed to the post till she attains the age of 65 years, an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training said.

NEW DELHI: Former CBDT chief Anita Kapur was today appointed as member of Competition Appellate Tribunal (COMPAT).

Kapur has been appointed to the post till she attains the age of 65 years, an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training said.

COMPAT is a statutory organisation to hear and dispose of appeals against any order passed by fair-trade regulator Competition Commission of India.

Kapur, a retired officer of Indian Revenue Service ( Income Tax cadre), is a former chief of Central Board of Direct Taxes, the top policy making body on Direct Taxes.
