Food ministry moots proposal to do away with grain procurement

ALARMED at the projected rise in foodgrain stocks to 72.5 million tonnes by April next year, Food ministry on Thursday strongly favoured complete overhaul of foodgrain management system by delinking the minimum support price from procurement.
