FICCI names Sanmar Group Chairman Vijay Sankar President-Elect for 2026-27

The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) has named The Sanmar Group Chairman Vijay Sankar as its President-Elect for 2026-27, the industry body said in a statement on Thursday.

The decision was taken at a meeting of FICCI's National Executive Committee. Sankar, currently the industry's body’s Senior Vice President, will succeed Anant Goenka as President after the conclusion of its Annual General Meeting and Annual Convention on November 18-19, 2026, in New Delhi.

Sankar chairs the Chennai-headquartered Sanmar Group, a global industrial conglomerate with interests spanning chemicals, speciality chemicals, engineering, steel foundries and shipping.


He is also an independent director on the boards of TVS Motor Company Ltd and Larsen & Toubro Ltd. In addition, he serves as chairman of Chemplast Sanmar Ltd.
