FB says it does not support WB govt's industrial policy
The Forward Bloc on Sunday said it does not support the industrial policy being followed by the West Bengal government.
"We expressed our opposition to the industrialisation policy way back in 1994. But our views were not accepted," FB state secretary Ashok Ghosh told a rally here.
FB, a partner of the ruling Left Front, would no longer toe the government line, he said.
Referring to the CRPF, Ghosh said that his party wanted continuation of the central force in Nandigram as they had instilled confidence among the violence-hit people.
He said that FB would contest the coming panchayat elections in the state on its own, adding it would remain in the ruling Left Front.
Talking about March 14 police firing, currently under CBI investigation, Ghosh said state Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee owned responsibility for the incident and promised compensation to the victims at a Front meeting on March 17 in Kolkata.
