Faceless approach to taxation: FM apprises I-T officers of their increased responsibility

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman apprised income tax officers of their increased responsibility with the government's new faceless approach to taxation.

India was setting an example for the world in use of technology in delivery of better services to its taxpayers, she is learnt to have communicated to officers in a meeting on Friday, after launch of the Transparent Taxation platform the day before.

She exhorted them to work with the same zeal and dedication to accomplish the faceless appeal system an equal success.


Officers will have to strive to serve taxpayers with much higher standards to meet the commitments given in taxpayers charter, the minister said as per sources aware of the meeting.
