Emigration Bill to be tabled in next session

The Emigration (Amendment) Bill 2002 will be introduced by the government in the monsoon session of Parliament so that the government may set up a Central Manpower Export Promotion Council as well as constitute the Indian Overseas Welfare Fund .

NEW DELHI: The Emigration (Amendment) Bill 2002 will be introduced by the government in the monsoon session of Parliament so that the government may set up a Central Manpower Export Promotion Council as well as constitute the Indian Overseas Welfare Fund .
The decision to amend the current Emigration Act was approved by the Union Cabinet yesterday, keeping the context of growing manpower exports, both skilled and unskilled.
The Export Promotion Council will be an advisory promotional body in the area of manpower exports. It would have its headquarters in New Delhi and branch offices in states and abroad, according to minister Arun Jaitley who briefed the media after the Cabinet meeting.
