new delhi: delhi vidyut board has failed to get much of a response to its privatisation bids. dvb managed to get only two bids for its distribution zones -— the distribution companies are from tata power and bses. and the highest bid on the bid parameter -— reduction in transmission and distribution losses -— turned out to be just 13 per cent for the first year, under the government’s benchmark of 20 per cent. this is despite a strong political commitment both from the state government and the centre, and an extension of the deadline to accommodate more players. investors have stayed away and the state has managed to get only two bids for their three distribution companies. the companies are: one for the north and north-west zones, the second for the south and west zones, and the third for the central and east zones. while both tata power and bses have bid for north and north-west and south and west zones, the central and east zones have got a single bid from bses.
