Draft aviation security to be final by August

The civil aviation ministry would finalise a draft legislation covering all aspects of aviation security and various related rules and procedures by the next month.

NEW DELHI: The civil aviation ministry would finalise a draft legislation covering all aspects of aviation security and various related rules and procedures by the next month.
"We are bringing in one single comprehensive all-encompassing Civil Aviation Security Bill by next month," civil aviation secretary K Roy Paul told a seminar on aviation safety, security and facilitation here.
There were a "multiplicity of laws" relating to security which needed to be rationalised, Paul said, adding the draft would be finalised by next month and presented before the Union Cabinet for its approval before being tabled in Parliament.
