DGAD for final duties against imports of Phenol, STPP

The designate anti-dumping authority has recommended final duties against imports of phenol from European Union, South Africa and Singapore.

NEW DELHI: The designate anti-dumping authority has recommended final duties against imports of phenol from European Union, South Africa and Singapore.
The Directorate general of Anti-dumping and Allied Duties under the Commerce Ministry has in another case also recommended final duties against imports of Tripoly Phosphate (STPP) from China.
In its final findings notification, the DGAD has recommended a duty equal to the difference between $710.84 per MT and the landed value of imports on all Phenol imports from Singapore, European Union and bulk sales of the product from South Africa.
A duty equal to the difference between $778.59 per MT and the landed value of import has been recommended by the authority in the case of drum sales of the product from South Africa.
The case was investigated for the period April 2001 to December 2002, by the DGAD on the basis of a petition filed by the Hindustan Organic Chemicals Ltd on behalf of the domestic industry.
Meanwhile in another case the DGAD recommended a duty equal to the difference between $661.84 per MT and the landed value on all imports of the product from China.
Investigation against the imports from China was conducted for the period April 2000 to June 2001.
