Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Saturday ruled out any plan on her government's part to privatise the loss-making state-owned Delhi Transport Corporation.

NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Saturday ruled out any plan on her government''s part to privatise the loss-making state-owned Delhi Transport Corporation.
"Any move towards restructuring or privatisation, even in future will be made after taking the various Employee unions in full confidence," Dikshit said after meeting a delegation of DTC Employees'' Union.
A Central Government report had recommended privatisation of DTC.
The chief minister also accepted the demand of employees for time bound promotion, which would benefit the 18,000 employees but increase DTC''s burden by Rs 55 lakhs, an official release said.
To make sure employees get their salaries in time, the finance department would make advance sanctions.
