CVC to now list blacklisted firms, NGOs

NEW DELHI: In its drive against corruption, the Central Vigilance Commission is considering to put the name of blacklisted firms and non-governmental organizations on its website, Central Vigilance Commissioner N Vittal said today.

"the commission is considering in addition to publishing the names of public servants who have been found guilty after due departmental enquiry in vigilance cases, the names of blacklisted firms or ngos on the website so that those who do business in india, will be able to refer there to do due diligence and moral hazards in business are overcome", vittal said here at a e-business seminar. "we are currently examining the legal issues. maybe in a fornight or so, we will be able to do something on this," he said, adding he already has got such a list of allegedly "corrupt firms and ngos", vittal said. the commission has already put names of 1,100 officials who have been found guilty after departmental inquiry on its website, he said.
