Committee to probe violation of contract labour system at ports
The members of the committee include representatives from the ministry of railways, Coal India, members of trade unions, employers’ representative and secretary of the Central Advisory Contract Labour Board as convener.

“The committee, to be headquartered in New Delhi, would examine and investigate in detail the violation done by several ports (all over India) where contract labour system has been prohibited.” 4. “The committee shall hear the parties afresh, allow submissions, if any and submit its report within three months,” labour ministry added in a notification.

The Central Advisory Contract Labour Board, under labour ministry, has constituted the committee under Section 5 of the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970.
