CII to partner with Assam government for state's economic development
CII will also set up a Skill Hub in Assam in consultation with the state government in imparting relevant and market demand based skill training.
CII President S Gopalakrishnan said in an interaction here today that the chamber and state government will constitute a joint Task Force to work on a five point agenda for development of the region.
The five point agenda includes skill development, growth of the IT industry in the state, enhancing MSME competitiveness through capacity building, boost food processing including enabling the tea industry to move up the value chain and facilitating healthcare delivery, he said.
The chamber, through its Centre of Excellence for competitiveness, would also work with the state government for cluster development programmes to enhance the competitiveness of the MSME sector in the state.

"The focus will be on bridging the skills gaps in the state which is growing rapidly, thereby requiring a large spectrum of skills", he added.
Gopalkrishna, who is also the co-founder and Executive Vice Chairman of Infosys, was on a two-day visit here to meet the Chief Minister, local industry leaders, IT entrepreneurs and youths.
