Centre to extend financial support for 'Bhu Bharti' project
Centre has approved Andhra Pradesh government proposal for Organic Agriculture scheme on 25 lakh acres with an investment of Rs 182 crore.

HYDERABAD: The country's first 'Bhu Bharti' (integrated land information system) project now taken up in two districts of Andhra Pradesh - Nizamabad and Warangal - on a pilot basis could be complete by March next.
Union Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh after visiting the two districts reviewed the progress and expressed hope that the project would be extended to five more districts - Srikakulam, Kadapa, Kurnool, Karimnagar and Nellore in the current fiscal while the entire 23 districts would be covered by 2012 and also taken up in the entire country.
He said the Centre proposed to introduce a "Conclusive title" for these surveyed lands, which will be first of its kind and the State Assembly would pass a bill for introducing such "presented deed".
Ramesh said the Centre has approved a state government proposal for `Organic Agriculture' scheme on 25 lakh acres in the state with an investment of Rs 182 crore. Complimenting the state government for effectively implementing the NREG Programme, Ramesh said there are 48 lakh postal saving bank accounts have been opened by the beneficiaries.
'Salwa jadum' a movement launched by Chattisgarh government against Naxalites involving tribals has no significant progress, he alleged.
"The movement died down as there was no initiative from villagers against this anti-naxal effort", Ramesh added.
To a question, the minister said there is absolutely no impact of terror attack on investments in AP. "These sporadic incidents will not have bearing on progress".
