NEW DELHI: The Centre Saturday discussed with states various ways in which Artificial Intelligence can be used effectively for decision making and policy formulation in the government. The department of expenditure in the two-day Chintan Shivir at Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan discussed the potential of AI in policy making, taking views from the states, finance ministry said in a statement Sunday.

The department also asked states to give their views on the design and implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes and also discussed the appraisal and approval process for CSSs ending in March 2026, requiring continuation beyond the fifteenth Finance Commission Cycle.

The Chintan Shivir, held on November 14-15, 2025, saw participation from officials from department of expenditure and finance departments of Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Delhi, and Rajasthan, among others.
