GUWAHATI: Assam government has increased entry tax on automobiles, washing machines, cell phones, furniture; sanitary fittings. These items have become costlier as entry tax on these items is increased from present 4 to 10 percent.

The state government notified increase of entry tax on cars, buses and trucks, two and three wheelers, household electronic goods like refrigerators, air coolers, air conditioning plants and washing machines. Entry tax has been raised on marble, granite and decorative slabs and all varieties of tiles.
