CAIT demands extension of GST filing date as portal snaps
NEW DELHI: The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has demanded that filing date for Goods and Service Tax return be extended as the GSTN portal did not work on Saturday, the last day of filing.

"Traders across Country felt utter dismay and disappointed as GST Portal did not work throughout today landing Traders in trouble as they were unable to file Form3B today which is the summary return of transactions made in the month of July," CAIT said in a statement.

August 20th is the last date for filing such return.

In view of the same, it is also reported that Banks are reluctant in receiving tax payments since they have no information as to how the entries and under which head they will accept such payments and without tax payment Form 3B will not be accepted by the portal, it said.

It happened all over the Country as per feedback received by CAIT, it said.
