Budget 2019: Sitharaman proposes waiving 180 days criteria for issuing Aadhaar to NRIs

As of now, an NRI has to stay in India for more than 180 days to be eligible to apply for Aadhaar.

The move is aimed at easing the process of issuing Aadhaar to NRIs.
Nirmala Sitharaman propsoed that the Non-Resident Indians with Indian passports will get Aadhaar cards on their arrival in india without waiting for the madatory period of 180 days .

As of now, an NRI has to stay in India for more than 180 days to be eligible to apply for Aadhaar.

The move is aimed at easing the process of issuing Aadhaar to NRIs.
