BENAULIM (GOA): BIMSTEC members Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bhutan and Nepal have many economic opportunities to share about, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said here on Sunday.

"There are many economic opportunities. We have shared aspirations for growth, development, commerce and technology," Modi said in his address at the BRICS-BIMSTEC outreach meet here.

He also said technology "can bridge gaps and connect communities".

"It can also deliver services that make a difference in our daily lives," said Modi, noting that together these nations "represent almost two thirds of humanity".

"We are united by similar challenges and concerns," he said and added that the member nations can work togther also in issues related to environment and disaster management.
