BRICS Employment Working Group meeting to begin in Delhi on Tuesday

“International organizations viz. ILO, ISSA and academia’s are also participating and providing their research inputs to the deliberation,” it added.
The 1st meeting of BRICS Employment Working Group (BEWG) was held on 27th – 28th July, 2016 at Hyderabad. During this meeting broad consensus were achieved on ‘employment generation for inclusive growth’, ‘possible social security agreement among BRICS nations’ and ‘networking of labour institutes of BRICS nations’ to include in the BRICS ministerial declaration for their subsequent discussion, the statement added.
India has assumed the presidency of BRICS in February, 2016 and will host the 8th BRICS Summit 2016 on October 15-16, 2016 at Goa. The theme of India’s BRICS Chairmanship is “Building Responsive, Inclusive and Collective Solutions”.
Following the recommendation of BRICS labour & employment ministerial meeting in Ufa, Russia under Russia Presidency, the BRICS Employment Working Group has been constituted to deliberate on common issues and challenges facing the world of work in BRICS nations and to formulate appropriate & coordinated policy reforms.
