Russian new Deputy Ambassador Roman Babushkin and his counterparts from Brazil and China who on Thursday jointly addressed the press about the upcoming BRICS summit in Brazil stated that the issues of unilateral sanctions and trade will be an important topic of discussions at the BRICS meet. The BRICS Foreign Ministers are currently meeting in Brazil.
“Russia-India relations are time-tested and it cannot he stopped by sanctions…,” asserted Babushkin.
He further added that US action against Chinese telecom giant Huawei's 5G services was unfair and inappropriate.
“We are against unfair means of competition. What the US is doing (against Huawei) is inappropriate," claimed Babuskhin.
He informed that the BRICS will look at strengthening an alternative mechanism for currency reserve. The senior diplomat further said the BRICS Contingent Reserve Arrangement (CRA) can be used when needed.
