Bill to regulate courier services

The Centre was planning to introduce a Bill to regulate the activities of courier services in the country.

TIRUCHIRAPPALLI: The Centre was planning to introduce a Bill to regulate the activities of courier services in the country.

Talking to reporters here last night A Raja, Union Minister for Communications, said that his Ministry had prepared the contents of the proposed Courier Regulatory Bill and it was in the process of intra-Ministry circulation.

The Law and Finance Ministries would study the contents of the bill and they would incorporate their suggestion before giving a final shape to the Bill, he said.

Various nationalised banks could utilise the services of post offices as outlets for handling of saving bank Recently a pilot project had been initiated in 25 select towns and on the receipt of the feedbacks, the scheme would be extended across the country, he said.
