Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh, national trade union affiliated to RSS, has condemned government's move to take on privatisation across key sectors as part of the fourth tranche of Rs 20 lakh crore package unveiled by finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday.

"Privatisation across eight sectors is a show of dearth of ideas on economic revival in times of crisis," BMS said in a statement.

According to BMS, privatisation would mean massive job loss and generation of below quality jobs besides profitisation and exploitation of workers.

BMS has accussed government of going ahead with such major changes without any social dialogue with key stakeholders. "Government is shy of consultation and dialogue with trade unions, social representatives and stakeholders and this shows lack of confidence in their own ideas," it said.

"BMS strongly objects the announcements on the corporatisation and privatisation in eight sectors taking advantage of the crisis period," it added.
