All Aadhaar issues have been settled by Govt and Supreme Court: Nandan Nilekani
Aadhaar Architect Nandan Nilekani says all issues around Aadhaar have now been settled with the parliament passing amendment bill and the Supreme Court upholding its constitutional validity.

Talking exclusively to ET NOW, Nilekani said, "SC has said private entities cannot use Aadhaar data. That's been rectified with the amendment bill. Aadhaar issues have now been settled. I think now you will see more and more usage of Aadhaar. It will improve the economy and allow people to improve their lives."

Aadhaar has been at the centre of controversy for a long time with concerns raised around privacy and data security. It has also faced criticism by some quarters on earlier occasions for being made mandatory to availing services.

The cabinet approved the Amendments to Aadhaar Bill. It provides for use of Aadhaar number as proof of identity of a person, subject to authentication. The govt in the Union Budget had also announced plans around interchangeability of Pan and Aadhaar.
