Air India chief Ashwani Lohani empanelled as Secretary

The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved empanelment of Lohani to hold the post of a secretary or its equivalent in the Government of India.

NEW DELHI: Air India chief Ashwani Lohani has been empanelled to hold Secretary-level posts in the central government.

Lohani is a 1980 batch officer of Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers ( IRSME). He was in August last year appointed as Chairman and Managing Director of Air India Ltd.

The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved empanelment of Lohani to hold the post of a secretary or its equivalent in the Government of India, an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training said.

Besides him, six other officers - three of Indian Audit and Accounts Service, two of Indian Revenue Service and one belonging to Indian Forest Service - have been empanelled as secretaries, it said.
