I will call it a balanced, progressive and innovative Budget and it has dealt with a large number of issues long pending, which needed to be addressed.

This will lead to more savings and more money in the hands of people, which would come either as a saving or as payment. It will therefore support the expected GDP growth of 8 to 8.5%.

The current account deficit is also expected to be only 1.3% for the current year, which will help in strengthening of rupee and ultimately help in controlling inflation.

The Budget did not deliver Big Bang announcements, it rather focuses on improving procedures and easing business conditions.

On the whole, the Budget has not made very high promises but focused more on delivery. I believe that the markets in the long term will react favourably to the Budget as there are a number of new steps, and I expect that the markets should grow by 15% to 20% every year for the next 2-3 years."
