21 central PSEs working without CMD or MD

The Centre told Parliament Monday that 21 central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) are working without a chairman and managing director or a managing director.

The list includes IRCTC, Mahanadi Coalfields, ONGC, Bharat Electronics Ltd, Oil India, Shipping Corporation of India, National Seeds Corp Ltd, North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Ltd.

MoS for finance Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad told Lok Sabha in a written reply that in many cases the post has been lying vacant since 2015.


"Though efforts are made to ensure that the board level posts do not remain vacant for long, at any point in time, there would be some posts vacant due to various reasons," he added.
