20 foreign tech JVs approved

Commerce and industry minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday approved 20 cases of foreign tech collaborations/franchise pacts as recommended by the project approval board with the department of industrial policy and promotion.

NEW DELHI: Commerce and industry minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday approved 20 cases of foreign tech collaborations/franchise pacts as recommended by the project approval board with the department of industrial policy and promotion.
The approved proposals include technical collaboration agreement between EMA India Ltd and Eldec Schwenk Induction GmbH of Germany for manufacturing high frequency transistorised JGBT/MOSFET frequency converters and an alliance between Cummins India Ltd and Cummins Inc of the USA for manufacture of internal combustion piston engine.
The commerce minister also gave the green light to a proposal for trademark agreement between the Indian subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH with the parent, for fuel injection systems for petrol engines. Technology collaboration between ABB Ltd and its Swiss parent for manufacture of instrument transformers was also approved.
