Reliance Jio senior executive Pawan Yadav quits
NEW DELHI: Pawan S Yadav, business head of public WiFi at Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio Infocomm, has quit after a stint of over two years. Yadav looked after the rollout of the company's Wi-Fi facilities across the country, heading a team of 18-20 executives at Jio, people familiar with the matter said. Yadav confirmed his resignation. Jio didn't respond to ET's query on his exit.

Jio started commercial voice and data services this month and is also banking on WiFi to offer internet access to customers. It plans to deploy almost 1 million WiFi hotspots across the country by the middle of next year. The company is also connecting the majority of India's schools and colleges with WiFi to provide broadband wireless data access to students in their classrooms.

At Jio, Yadav was involved in the development of the business plan for public WiFi. Among other things, he was responsible for driving adoption of other Jio products through WiFi and the development of customised internal processes and apps for the business.
